Que mágico se siente encontrar tu lugar en el mundo… y el mio es rodeada por animales. Cada fin de semana ayudando en la finca, descubro algo nuevo en mi. Cuando pienso que no soy lo suficientemente fuerte, me sorprendo a mi misma levantando un saco gigante de granos para las alpacas. Cuando dudo de mi capacidad, descubro que tengo lo que necesito para hacer un buen trabajo. Mi deseo por aprender y mi buena memoria me están ayudando a fortalecer mis habilidades en la finca. Este pasado fin de semana fue un buen ejemplo de eso. Cuando me vi con una inyección en la mano, por un segundo pensé: y si lastimo al animal?? Pero cuando llegó el momento de actuar, escuche atentamente las instrucciones y manos a la obra! SabÃa que tenÃa que moverme rápido y con confianza. Si lo hacia muy lento arriesgaba mover la aguja al lugar equivocado. Si no lo hacÃa rápido, significaba que la alpaca estarÃa inmovilizada por más tiempo, lo cual las estresa… y en ocasiones significó que me respondieran con el famoso escupitajo verde que apesta a mil demonios. ¡Me pasó dos veces! Estoy viva… asà que seguimos! Al final del proceso, con el corazón contento y la mente imaginando todas las futuras posibilidades, el dueño de la finca me dijo: eres natural para esto. ¡Qué palabras poderosas! Cuando una persona que lleva trabajando 10 años con estos animales te dice que tienes talento natural, tú le crees. Me llene de un orgullo interior que renovó mi meta de cambiar de carreras y crear la vida que estoy segura nacà para tener. Renovó mis energÃas de poner todo en orden,y asà en un futuro cercano pueda moverme de trabajar con gente a trabajar con animales. No puedo imaginarme una mejor vida. Ya les contare!

How magical it feels to find your place in the world … and mine is surrounded by animals. Every weekend helping on the farm, I discover something new in myself. When I think I’m not strong enough, I surprise myself by lifting a giant sack of grain for the alpacas. When I doubt my ability, I find that I have what I need to do a good job. My desire to learn and my good memory are helping me to strengthen my skills on the farm. This last weekend was a good example of that. When I saw myself with an injection in my hand, for a second I thought: what if I hurt the animal? But when it was time to act, I listened carefully to the instructions and got to work! I knew I had to move quickly and confidently. If you do it too slowly you risk moving the needle to the wrong place. If I didn’t do it quickly, it meant that the alpaca was immobilized for a longer time which stresses them … and sometimes it meant that they responded to me with the famous green spit that reeks of a thousand demons. It happened to me twice! I am alive … so we go on! At the end of the process, with a happy heart and a mind imagining all the future possibilities, the owner of the farm told me: you are natural!. What powerful words! When a person who has been working with these animals for 10 years tells you that you have natural talent, you believe him. It filled me with an inner pride that renewed my goal of changing careers and creating the life that I am sure I was born to have. It renewed my energy to put everything in order, so that in the near future I can move from working with people to working with animals. I can’t imagine a better life. I’ll keep you posted!
